Founded in 1881, PKZ is Switzerland’s oldest fashion retailer.

Once a leading menswear exporter with its own factories, the company now operates the PKZ MEN and PKZ WOMEN brands through local stores and a powerful digital presence. As part of its omnichannel strategy, PKZ launched a new e-commerce platform to unify systems, improve the online shopping experience, and connect seamlessly with logistics, CRM, payments, and in-store applications.

Status quo

PKZ’s previous e-commerce solution no longer met the standards for usability, performance, or mobile responsiveness.

Filtering, wishlist functionality, and personalization were missing. Integration with backend systems like ERP, CRM, logistics, and payment providers was only partial. The company needed a scalable, modern platform that could grow with increasing traffic and changing customer expectations.

The challenge

The key challenge was to design and launch a fully integrated e-commerce platform based on nopCommerce that could unify processes across multiple systems.

The platform had to support real-time communication with CRM, logistics, ERP, newsletter systems, and in-store apps. In addition, the front-end had to deliver a seamless customer experience, including fast performance, responsive design, personalized product discovery, and support for multiple payment methods.

The solution

The new system was built on nopCommerce and extended with custom modules.

A real-time middleware layer connects CRM, ERP, logistics (MsDirect), payment providers (Six, PayPal), and newsletter tools. The in-store app is connected via a CDN and a dedicated order API. The front-end includes wishlist features, advanced search and filter logic, and a fully responsive design. The presentation layer was rebuilt based on user testing to deliver optimal usability across devices.

The result

The relaunched platform now handles over 2.5 million user sessions annually and offers a consistent, high-performing shopping experience.

Seamless integration with backend systems streamlines operations, improves customer satisfaction, and supports ongoing platform evolution. With modular architecture and real-time interfaces, PKZ is equipped to continuously expand features and personalize content across all digital touchpoints.
