As a fast-growing company with an established standing in the field of digital HR solutions, HR-Benefit already supports numerous medium-sized and large companies in German-speaking countries. As part of this project, CONVOTIS took over the development and support of a digital portal including a mobile app for the HR-Benefit brand. The solution combines a client-capable backend based on Liferay with a React native app – including functions for benefits administration, document entry, a leasing shop and individual advice on salary optimisation and pension provision.
Until the platform was introduced, the administration of employee benefits was often fragmented – using manual processes, various isolated solutions or paper-based submissions.
There was no consolidated solution that combined the app and portal and centrally supported all steps of administration, document entry, billing and archiving.
The aim was to create a multi-client-capable system that maps, automatically settles and securely archives benefits in different categories.
At the same time, a mobile app had to be developed that would allow employees to intuitively manage all benefits in one app. Other challenges included the integration of external interfaces and the implementation of a scalable DevOps approach.
The backend is based on Liferay Portal CE with customised portlets, ElasticSearch for the search and a MariaDB database structure.
The app was realised with React Native and offers OCR-based receipt capture, integration with credit card and leasing providers and access to benefit-in-kind cards, among other things. Docker and Kubernetes containers ensure flexibility and reliability in a secure infrastructure. CONVOTIS took full responsibility for quality assurance and submission of the app to Google Play and the App Store.
The app and portal provide a stable, secure and future-proof platform that systematically maps and efficiently manages employee benefits.
Processes such as receipt verification, benefit use and device management are digitalised and designed to be traceable. The solution is multi-client capable, scalable and fulfils the highest security requirements – a strong contribution to the digital transformation of HR processes.
