Status quo
Traditional network security has reached its limits in the healthcare sector.
Prior to the introduction of advanced SCION technology, network security in the healthcare sector was largely based on traditional Internet protocols. Although these offered encryption, they did not provide full control over the data paths. Cyberattacks, routing weaknesses and interruptions meant that the requirements for resilience and traceability were increasingly reaching their limits.

CONVOTIS established a highly secure trust space for HIN using SCION technology.
CONVOTIS implemented the HIN Trusted Space based on SCION technology. SCION enables the explicit selection of data paths and combines this with a self-contained, trustworthy infrastructure. The result is a secure, fault-tolerant communication network for healthcare organizations that can be seamlessly integrated into existing applications and processes.
