Status quo
LiSEC had relied on SAP systems for years, running on AIX and Oracle.
However, this setup increasingly faced limitations in performance, scalability, and modernization. To stay competitive, a full transition to a future-proof SAP infrastructure became essential. A shift to SAP S/4HANA and a modern Linux-based architecture was planned.
The challenge
The project involved a full system conversion from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4HANA, alongside an OS/DB migration from AIX & Oracle to SLES & SAP HANA.
The complexity of the systems, paired with the requirement for uninterrupted operations, posed a significant challenge. The solution had to ensure high availability, system integrity, and minimal downtime throughout the process.
The solution
LiSEC began by virtualizing its SAP environment. CONVOTIS provided Linux expertise and handled the OS/DB migration to SLES & SAP HANA.
Following the infrastructure upgrade, the SAP Basis team completed the full conversion to SAP S/4HANA. Veeam Backup was integrated for data protection, and Wotan-based SAP HANA Monitoring was implemented for real-time system insights.
The result
LiSEC now operates on a secure and scalable SAP S/4HANA platform.
The infrastructure supports optimized production workflows, better data transparency, and long-term process stability. Veeam Backup ensures data recovery readiness, while the monitoring system guarantees continuous performance and control – all with zero disruption to daily operations.
