What remains of a major EU project like DeployAI once the platform goes live? For CONVOTIS, this is where the real work begins: translating the platform into practical solutions. In the second part of our interview, COO José Lopez talks about pre-configured packages, production-ready AI services – and how CONVOTIS is putting digital sovereignty into action.

What’s left of the project beyond the platform launch?

A fully functional ecosystem. The platform is live, the packages are ready to use – and now CONVOTIS is translating this into tangible value for businesses. DeployAI was the starting point to bring production-ready AI solutions, secure DevOps infrastructure, and integration-capable platforms to market – especially for companies without dedicated IT teams.

How do mid-sized companies benefit in practice?

DeployAI offers immediately usable, pre-configured packages – from intelligent product search for webshops to scalable development environments. Everything is GDPR-compliant and hosted in our sovereign cloud infrastructure in Europe, with no lengthy implementation phases.

To bring AI to life for mid-sized businesses, we combine scalable open-source models such as Teuken, LLaMA 3.1, NVLM 1.0, and Ollama – optimized using TensorRT-LLM for high-performance runtime. These are enhanced with low-code/no-code tools like AIBuilder, LLMLab, n8n for process automation, and Langflow for visual LLM workflow orchestration. This allows AI-powered processes and agents to be quickly modeled, tested, and deployed – securely and pragmatically.

For maximum computing power, DeployAI and our partnerships enable access to the MeluXina HPC supercomputer from Luxembourg’s HPC provider LuxProvide. This allows even mid-sized businesses to efficiently train complex AI models, perform large-scale data analysis, and deliver AI-driven services – without their own HPC infrastructure.

What does this mean for CONVOTIS?

It reflects our transformation: from implementation partner in an EU project to provider of independent, ready-to-use platform solutions for both mid-sized businesses and the public sector. We connect European technology policy with business value – strengthening not only our customers, but also Europe’s digital competitiveness.

Why is CONVOTIS involved in a European flagship project like DeployAI?

Because European sovereignty needs reliable, practical platforms – and we have the expertise to help build them. Our ambitions go beyond the project itself: we’re applying the architectural, integration, and operational insights to build solutions that scale for all business sizes – from public authorities to enterprises and SMEs.

What does DeployAI say about CONVOTIS as a long-term IT partner?

DeployAI clearly shows what sets CONVOTIS apart as a long-term IT partner: we don’t just deliver isolated projects – we actively shape Europe’s digital future with solutions that combine sovereignty, security, and real-world usability. Our strength lies in translating complex requirements into deployable, scalable, and sustainable solutions – always with a clear focus on operational reality.

Together with strong partners in the DeployAI consortium from the EU AI-on-Demand Platform project, we have turned this vision into reality – as project coordinator Joachim Köhler confirms:

“I want to thank José Lopez and the CONVOTIS team, whose expertise and dedication were crucial for the success of DeployAI. In particular, they played a key role in developing the DevOps infrastructure, the AI marketplace, and the enterprise platform – making a decisive contribution to the project’s success.”

What’s next for CONVOTIS strategically – with or beyond DeployAI?

We’re building Europe’s digital future – with sovereign cloud infrastructure, AI platforms, and scalable architectures. Our mission is to make digital sovereignty not just technically possible, but practically usable. DeployAI was an important building block. But our focus goes far beyond: we are developing infrastructure that aligns with European values – open, secure, and economically sustainable. For public institutions, corporations, and especially the midmarket.
